As we entered our mansion, Reena stormed in first, grabbing a flower vase from the table and smashing it onto the floor. The sound of shattering glass echoed through the silent halls. I sighed, sinking into the sofa, rubbing my temples.
"Ree, getting angry like this won't change anything," I muttered, closing my eyes.
"How dare he say that!" Reena fumed, pacing back and forth before plopping down beside me.
"Should we tell Dad?" she asked.
I shook my head. "No. It's a minor thing. Dad has bigger problems to deal with."
"You're right," she admitted, though her tone was still laced with irritation. "You know what? I'll call Kamal and let him handle it."
I nodded and stood up. "I'm heading to my room. If you need me, you know where to find me."
Inside my room, frustration bubbled inside me. That man-Rocky-his arrogance, his audacity... who did he think he was? A roadside Romeo playing the hero? As if. The way he confidently declared his love, acting as if he owned the whole damn world-disgusting.
"Ewwww" I shuddered at the thought.
The Next Morning
Kamal stormed into the indoor garden, dressed sharply in a black suit and sunglasses, radiating authority.
"Reyna, I will find him. And when I do-"
Before he could finish, Reena stood up abruptly, her glare cutting through the air like a knife.
"Kamal, you once told my father that Reyna and I were your responsibility. That you'd be the brother Reyna never had. That you'd protect us. Is this how you handle your so-called responsibility?" Her voice was laced with sarcasm and disappointment.
Kamal clenched his jaw, his fingers tightening around his sunglasses as she turned and walked away.
"Ree!" I called after her, but she didn't look back.
I turned to Kamal, who was seething. "Do you remember what he looks like?" he asked.
I raised a brow. "Of course. Every single detail is burned into my memory."
"Good. Then give me the details. I'll have a sketch made immediately and make one from your side too so we can finalize who he is ."
I hesitated, but nodded. I described Rocky-his smug smirk, his sharp jawline, the way his eyes held an unshaken confidence that, for some reason, haunted me more than it should have.
As Kamal left to begin his search, I sneered under my breath. He's only doing this for my father's power and influence. If not for that, he wouldn't even care. Oh, wait-maybe he would, considering he treats women like toys at his fancy hotel because I knew he was attracted to both Reena and me . If only he knew we were aware of his little secrets...
Same Night
"Oh, shut it already!" I snapped at my assistant, Abheer. "I know Andrew hired someone to kill the junior boss of that place, but it's not like he'll succeed. That place is hell itself." Me and Reena was never even allowed to talk bout it because he didn't want us to be disturbed about that place even for a bit ,I sighed as I thought what would be there even
I leaned back, rubbing my temples. My father, Andrew, Kamal, and even that know-it-all Guru feared that place. They knew they will no longer be partners in that business, so here they are hiring some shity people to kill the king of dustbin".
But that's not my concern right now.
I turned to Abheer. "Enough snooping in Dad's office for today. It's getting dangerous. Right now, I need every single detail on that Rocky guy. What if he's some trained sniper or something?"
Abheer nodded and left my bedroom. I sighed, my eyes drifting to the unfinished sketch on my desk.
Something was missing.
"The eyes."
Those eyes haunted me. They held too much-too much confidence, too much defiance, too much... something I couldn't quite place.
"Are you seriously trying to make this perfect?" I scoffed at myself, shaking my head.
Annoyed, I shoved all the papers aside and crawled into bed, throwing the blanket over me. Sleep came in restless waves.
The Next Morning
A phone rang in the garden in kamals house and. Kamal picked it up.
"Yes?"
A man came towards him reporting about him as Kamal took the phone away as he looked at the man . "Sir, we've identified 45 men staying in nearby hotels. They came for an exam, and some match the description you gave. But there's a problem-none of our men are conscious yet to confirm his identity."
Kamal's face twisted in frustration. Then, an idea struck him, and he smirked. "There are two people who can recognize him."
Desai Mansion
"Reena is already on her way to the hotel to find him. Reyna, you're coming too. It'll be easier to prove how useless and powerless he actually is," Kamal declared.
I smirked, already looking forward to wiping that smug look off Rocky's face. "I'll be back in five minutes," I said, heading to my room.
I slipped into a white dress with blue accessories. When I came downstairs, Kamal swallowed hard, caught off guard for a second. I pretended not to notice and stepped outside, sliding into my white Audi.
The entire ride to the hotel, I smirked to myself, thinking about how satisfying it would be to put Rocky in his place.
When we arrived, Reena's blue car was already there. She had started the search.
I watched as men knocked on doors.
"No."
Another door opened.
"Not him."
More doors, more disappointments.
Then the next door came
The men knocked. No answer.
They moved on to the next, but something about that door made me hesitate.
Just as I turned to leave-
"Ahhh!"
A strong hand grabbed me, yanking me inside the room.
My back was about to hit the door ,and I gasped.
And there he was.
Rocky.
His intense gaze bore into mine, an amused smirk curling at his lips."You," I spat, my voice laced with venom."Me," he replied, his voice low, teasing.
