"You came here just to see me?" Rocky asked, his face a mix of surprise and amusement. "You really can't live without me, huh? You won't believe it-I was in the shower, thinking of you." I clenched my fists, my anger flaring at his words . "I'm going to kill you, remember that!"I spited those words at him
Rocky smirked and stepped closer, caging me between his arms. "I'm already deathed, Jaanu," he whispered, our faces were mere inches apart. I could feel my breath quicken, though it was more from fury than anything else.
"You know, you're all I ever think about," he continued, his voice teasing. "Blocking the road while drinking, just to celebrate your birthday. Storming in here with your thugs to find me so you can beat me up and threatens my life-I'm really touched by your actions, Shona. You love me so much, you just don't know it yet!"
"Shut up!" I snapped, but he was already in his own world.
"Tu na train track hai aur mai express train hai, and if you cooperate, we'll go chook chook chook together forever," he said dreamily, closing his eyes as if he could already see it.
I swear, I wanted to slap him. How dare he say something so ridiculous?
Just then, loud knocks sounded on the door. My thugs.
"Ek minute, Jaanu," Rocky said casually, stepping away to open the door.
I pressed my ear against it to eavesdrop.
"Shhh! Jab Didi aur Jija andar hai, disturb nahi karna chahiye. Pata nahi kya-"
Before he could finish, the thugs charged at him. I smirked as I heard scuffling and muffled screams. After a while, silence fell.
I opened the door, expecting to see my men victorious, but the hallway was empty.
Shaking my head, I turned to a nearby peon. "Tell Kamal it's done. I'm leaving."
The peon nodded and hurried away. I strode outside, my voice sharp as I called, "Driver!"
A sleek white Audi pulled up. The driver's door opened, and my irritation spiked when I saw who stepped out.
"Oh god, not you!" I scoffed. "You didn't even spare the driver?"
Rocky smirked as he opened the passenger door for me. "I'm here, na? I drops you ."
He made sure I was seated properly before shutting the door and sliding into the driver's seat.
As we drove off, he started his usual nonsense. "If you didn't like the driver's uniform, I can even wear a watchman's outfit for you, darling!"
I rolled my eyes.well that's only I could do rn
"And I have to say, your driver has guts. Even after watching me beat your thugs, he still wanted to fight me. Shona, don't come looking for me like this again, okay? I understand your urgency, but it's dangerous for you. And don't worry-we'll get married soon. I won't put 'kalesh' at the doorstep; I'll put a beer bottle. You just have to come and kick it."
I groaned, pressing my hands over my ears. "𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿!" I screamed at him
He glanced at me, confused. "What happened shona?"
"Just shut up!" I snapped, turning to glare at him. "Do you even know your worth? Huh? Do you even deserve to sit next to me? You're crossing the line in every way! How dare you think I would ever love you? Our status doesn't even match-"
Before I could finish, I noticed his attention shift to the road. His grip on the wheel tightened, and without warning, he slammed the brakes, stopping in the middle of the junction.
Cars blared their horns, but he didn't react.
"What the heck, dude?" I asked
He ignored me, his gaze locked on something outside.
Then, to my shock, he reached into his pants pocket and put the gun outside to let everyone see, the vehicles stopped the horns as he out his gun inside his pants
My breath caught. A gun? In this economy? Normal people don't just have guns. Was he some kind of big shot? But if he was, why was he here?
He stepped out of the car, walking to my side of the car aka the left side. He crouched down, resting one knee on the pavement.
Following his gaze, I saw a woman approaching him, a toddler clinging to her side. She looked exhausted, her clothes tattered.
Rocky held out a small bun which was in the road I locked at him with confusion as he said ,"I only got this after polishing eight people's shoes," he said. "If you're struggling for a simple piece of bread while others waste food without a thought, then I understand your pain."
The woman hesitated, eyeing the people who was looking at her!
"𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙," he continued I flinched slightly as he raised his voice . "If we want something, we have to get it ourselves-even if we have to stop others and remember,No one is stronger than you. The biggest warrior in this world is a mother."
His words hung in the air.
The woman took the bun, her eyes filled with gratitude.
A strange feeling rose in my chest. I thought of my own mother. I barely remembered her-she had died when I was just nine. But I remembered her warmth, the way she made me feel safe.
My vision blurred.
Rocky stood and walked back to the driver's seat. I sat there, silent, staring at the road. I had insulted him so much just minutes ago, but now...
"Shona, you were saying something?" he asked, throwing me a knowing glance.
I quickly wiped my eyes and shook my head. "No. Just... just drop me home."He smiled slightly, understanding without needing more words.
"Okay, Shonaaa," he sang, starting the car.I let out a small chuckle while rolling my eyes , staring out of the car
